Superintendent Gurk has served in many capacities within the education profession. He has been a teacher, coach, department chair, adult/alternative education teacher, assistant principal, and principal.
He has a Bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University and a Masters degree from Central Michigan University.
He is also a former U.S. Marine who served two tours of duty in Iraq and earned a Combat Action Ribbon and a Presidential Unit Citation.
